1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government connection. It does not store official criminal records, retrieve a record on request, conduct an official check, or submit government paperwork for a user.

Its content identifies the offices that hold McCormick County records, including the Sheriff's Office, criminal courts, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, and South Carolina Sex Offender Registry. Official access remains governed by the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act and S.C. Code §23-3-115, not by these website terms.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the site is conditioned on the following limits. A user may not:

• Interfere with the site's operation or another person's access
• Use bots, scrapers, or other automated extraction tools on these pages
• Attempt unauthorized entry into any account, server, or system
• Use site content for hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions
• Stalk, harass, threaten, or intimidate anyone with information found here
• Violate any applicable federal, state, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No information from these pages or a linked tool may be used to harass, stalk, threaten, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate against a person. South Carolina places added limits on use of South Carolina Sex Offender Registry data. Under S.C. Code §23-3-510, using registry information to commit another crime can add a criminal penalty. Registry access supports public safety, not vigilantism, blacklisting, or discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

McCormick County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It creates no credit report, consumer report, or background-check product. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provide tools designed to assess applicants, renters, insurance risks, or credit. Site or linked-tool data must not be used to:

• Make any other determination controlled by the FCRA
• Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
• Set insurance terms or assess creditworthiness
• Evaluate a rental or housing application
• Make a hiring, retention, or termination decision

A legally permitted screening need must be handled through South Carolina Law Enforcement Division or another provider that complies with the FCRA and all applicable consent rules.

5. No Legal Advice

Website content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a warrant, charge, conviction, or expungement law applies to a specific person. A licensed South Carolina attorney can provide advice about an individual matter.

6. No Warranties

All content and features are supplied "as is." No warranty is made that:

• Every page will be free of bugs, errors, or security weaknesses
• The website will remain available without interruption
• Information will always be current, complete, or accurate
